Class A Training Course

This is an intermediate, comprehensive training led by our knowledgeable Instructors. This is an in-person course, combined lecture with hands-on skills sessions. Perfect for those who learn best in a traditional classroom setting, and our in-person classes give you ample time to ask questions and become comfortable with the latest techniques. The course is designed to enhance participants ability to take decisive, lifesaving action to assist a person with any related injury and life-threatening emergency until professional help arrives. It includes both written test, practical assessment and evaluation, it spans over three days. Certification is valid for three years, and a certificate of completion is awarded to participants who meets the required criteria.

Course Duration: 14-16 Hours

Course Contents

  • Medico-legal aspects of first aid
  • Responsibilities of the first aid attendant Knowledge
  • Basic anatomy and physiology: how the body systems work
  • Patients assessment: primary and secondary surveys
  • Assessment and monitoring of basic vital signs
  • Respiratory emergencies: respiratory system review, management of airways
  • Chest injuries: pneumothorax, flail chest, sucking chest wound
  • Circulatory emergencies: Circulatory system review, heart, attack, stroke
  • Bleeding: wounds, control of bleeding and bandaging
  • Shock: kinds and recognition of signs and symptoms
  • Abdominal injuries: system review by quadrant
  • Head, spine and pelvis injuries
  • Medical emergencies: epilepsy, diabetes'.
  • Assessment and treatment of burns -
  • Assessment and treatment of poisoning and acute effects of abused drugs
  • Problems of heat and cold
  • Emotional problems
  • Immobilization spinal injuries
  • Movement of casualty
  • Situation simulations, reporting on the patient to a higher level trained personnel
  • Understanding of and familiarity with the relevant occupational health and safety regulations

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Course

Get CPR certified and be prepared for the moments that matter. Practical based training and its more applicable for home care workers and preschool teachers. Certificate of attendance is provided. Certification validity is 2 years.

Course Duration: 4-6 Hours

  • Risk factors
  • Signals and actions of heart attack
  • Airway obstruction: prevention, causes, recognition
  • One rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (adult)
  • Conscious and unconscious obstructed airways (adult)
  • Turning and recovery

FIRST AID SERVICES AUTHORISED BY A CLASS A QUALIFICATION

(Regulation 218 (1)

  • Primary and secondary assessment
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Bandaging and splinting
  • Monitoring vital signs
  • Basic management of medical emergencies
  • Spine immobilization
  • Any other services for which the person has acquired additional training from a competent authority

FIRST AID SERVICES AUTHORISED BY A CLASS B QUALIFICATION

(Regulation 218 (2)

  • Primary and secondary assessment
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation while moving a patient
  • Bandaging and splinting
  • Monitoring vital signs
  • Basic management of medical emergencies
  • Airways management, the use of suction devices and bag-valve mask
  • Proper procedures and conditions for the administration of oxygen
  • Use of spinal immobilization devices
  • Psychological support measures
  • Any other services for which the person has acquired additional training from a competent authority

  1. An approved wound cleaner/antiseptic (lOOml)
  2. Swabs for cleaning wounds
  3. Cotton wool for padding (l00 g)
  4. Sterile gauze (minimum quantity = 10)
  5. 1 Pair of forceps (for splinters)
  6. 1 Pair of scissors, minimum size (100 mm)
  7. 1 Set of safety pins
  8. 4 Triangular bandages
  9. 4 Roller bandages (75 millimetres x 5 metres)
  10. 4 Roller bandages (100 millimetres x 5 metres)
  11. 1 Roll of elastic adhesive (25 millimetres x 3 metres)
  12. 1 Non-allergic adhesive strip (25 millimetres x 3 metres)
  13. 1 Packet of adhesive dressing strips (minimum quantity: 10 assorted sizes)
